We rely on donations and volunteers to be able to accomplish our mission.
You can help save lives by fostering, giving supplies, making a monetary donation, and many other ways.
No effort is too small!
Ways to Help:
Our only form of funding comes from donations, which means we need your help to feed, walk, and provide veterinary care for each and every dog that comes to us.
Every animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested, and put on heartworm and flea preventative. We also need the supplies to take care of them like crates and leashes.
We are always in need of donations of the following items:
- Easy Walk or Sensation Harnesses
- Exercise pens
- Heartworm preventative
To have them sent directly to us, please visit our Amazon.com Wish List.
To make a monetary donation, please send a check made out to BRHR to PO Box 16133 Asheville, NC 28816 or visit
We cannot operate without the help of volunteers. As a volunteer, you can be part of the solution to pet overpopulation, neglect, and abuse. Volunteering can lead to networking and great opportunities. People involved in a charitable organization tend to help one another, and volunteering looks great on a resume! Volunteer duties can range from playing with puppies to organizing events.
Fosters provide shelter, food, water, and care to homeless dogs and puppies. All veterinary care is provided. Food and supplies may also be provided. Fosters are needed for one night to several months.
The number of homeless animals we can save is directly related to how many foster homes we have to temporarily house the animals while we look for a suitable home for them. Fostering is one of the most important ways you can help homeless animals, and when you foster for us, you are literally saving the life of healthy, loving companion.
If you are interested in fostering please print and fill out our Foster Application, which allows us to match you with the best foster dog for your lifestyle. It scan be scanned and returned by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to our PO Box.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns!
